The Wealthy Merchant is the 5th home on The Hesdin Estate. A two bedroom home, your own XL stainless steel hot tub with decadent fountains, cold plunge and sauna! It’s perfect for small families, mini getaways, and can be added on to your existing Hesdin booking - if you’re the kind of person who likes a bit of space (“I love my family but I want a bit of distance at the end of the day!”)
The Wealthy Merchant is named after Arnulf De Hesdin who was gifted the property by William the Conqueror. Arnulf was a merchant who favoured wealth rather than ethics and we celebrate his dastardly rogue tactics.

We are more than happy to take a video to show you in more detail. This house is all on one floor but there is a step entering the house and into the garden area

The hot tub cover is soft and rubber which means that children are going to need to be supervised. The garden is secure. All doors out to the garden area are lockable and we always strongly suggest that guests to lock up and watch their children at all times. Please close the coverevery time it is not in use.

The Wealthy Merchant has a walled secure garden. You’re also free to walk the fields or the run way.

All our homes are on the Hesdin Estate so are close with each other. We ask that you are mindful of others and follow the house rules.

The Wealthy Merchant is the perfect little addition to your stay - with just two bedrooms, it’s the perfect place to escape and have a little quiet time away from the gang. We’ve crafted the most relaxing home so you’ll be able to recharge, swallow the niggle of resentment bubbling up at how annoying Uncle Nigel is, pick up a book, and come back to the family when you feel a little more, yourself.

Extras & Activities
We can get as involved as you’d like to make your trip, even more extraordinary. From supplying birthday cakes (freshly baked by Hes-Din-Dins), to organising a bazillion balloons of the Stag’s face as soon as the hen gets out of the minibus, get in contact with one of The Hesdin Team and see how we can help. We can also arrange for Housekeeping to come in the morning after the night before and hide all the empties, and give everything a spruce if you need it.
